I would like to share with you Frau Margit Meyer's wool that she dyed using my dye powders from Patchwork-Pro. As you see, the colors are bright and clear! This wool makes me want to take up knitting, but I will leave that to others that know how.

Ich möchte gerne die tollen Eindrücke von Frau Margit Meyer Wolle mit Euch teilen. Diese Wolle hat sie mit meinen Procion MX Farben aus unserem Patchwork-Pro Sortiment gefärbt hat. Phantastische Farben, leuchtend und klar!

Diese Wolle weckt den Wunsch in mir, mit dem Stricken anzufangen. Aber das überlasse ich wohl lieber denen, die das besser können.

I have finally  completed the yellow and white Irish Chain quilt! I used my Daffodil Yellow and Antique Yellow dyes for the two colors in this quilt. I added Pairie Points at the edges to give a different look to the quilt. Then I quilted the quilt on my Long Arm using a Daffodil pattern. I finally added an embroidered label to finish it off.

This is another example of what you can do with my dyes and fabrics. I would like to see some of your projects! 

 

Endlich habe ich das gelb-weiße Irish Chain Quilt vollendnt!  

Als Farben habe ich Narzisse Gelb und Antik Gelb gewält. Dazu Pairie Points an

den Randern, um den optischen Eindruck interessanter zu gestalten. Danach habe ich

das Quilt auf meiner Long Arm Maschine mit einem Narzissemunster besteppt. Zum 

Schluß gibt das getrickkt label Finish. 

Dies ist ein weiteres Beispeil dafür, was Ihr mit meinen Farben und Stoffen 

kreieren knnt. Ich würde mit freuen, wenn Ihr mit einige Eurer Projekte vorstellt!

Friday, May 1st, I went to a Kundsthandwerker Markt. It was in a very nice little village called Veltheim/Ohe. The market was held on the castle grounds in the hof and in the stables. I saw many nice things there and had to have a hand dyed, hand knitted scarf with Bamboo yarn. The pictures that are posted show what the market was like. I had a good day out in the fresh air? 

Am Freitag, dem 1. Mai besuchte enen Kunsthandwerker Markt. Er fand in einem sehr schönen kleinen Dorf namens Veltheim/Ohe statt. Der Markt wurde auf dem Schlossgelände im Hof und im Stall abgeghalten. Ich sah viele schöne Arbeiten und lonnte mir einen Handgefärbte, Handgestrickten Schal mt Bambusgarn nic verwehren. Die Bilder den Markt. Ich hatte einen wünderbaren Tag am frischer Luft!

I had a very good time in Prague a weekend ago. I saw lots of interesting things there. The one thing that really caught my attention was the Spanish Jewish Synagogue. Such wonderful tile work and the patterns were very rich! So many ideas that could come out of my visit there! 

 Ich hatte eine sehr gute Zeit in Prag am Wochenende. Ich sah viele imposante Sehenwürdingkeiten. Das Eine, war wirklich mein Interesse geweckt hat, war die spanisch jüdische Synagoge. Solch wunderbare ornamentarabeiten und reich Munster! Aus meinen Besuch werden so viele Ideeen für meine Arbeiten enstehen! 

 

I have just returned from a trip to Prague where my friends and I spent some time in the city before going to the International Quilt Show there. I saw many different things there! Here are a couple of quilts that were on display. They are made by a woman in Isreal.They are hand dyed and caught my eye!
Our greens are now ready and I have included the new colors in the posting so you can see what we have done.  Now we are going to work on makeing more shades of purple!

 

Ich bin gerade von einer Reise nach Prag zurückgekommen, wo meine Freunde und ich einige Zeit mit der Stadtbesichtigung verbracht haben, bevor wir die Internationale Quilt Show besuchten. Hier sind ein paar Patchworkdecken , die ausgestellt wurden. Geschaffen wurden sie von einer Frau aus Isreal. Sie waren handgefärbt, was meine Aufmerksamkeit erregte!

Unsere Grüntöne sind nun fertig, und ich habe die neuen Farben in diesen Post Entsendung eingefügt. Unser nächstes Farbprojekt wird Lila sei!

Progress is being made with the quilt! I have all of my 4-patches together and now am sewing the solid blocks together with the patches. With all that is going on, I just have a few minutes here and there to work on the quilt......I think I will have this one done in time to offer this quilt as a class for the fall line up for classes!

Working on mixing the greens is what is keeping me busy right now! We had a couple of successes from our first round of dyeing and now am working on round two... We have another batch that we will be adjusting hopefully, today and then they go on the mixing machine! These colors are worth waiting for!

Es gibt Fortschritte mit dem Quilt! Ich habe alle meine 4- Patches zusammen und jetzt bin ich beim Zusammennähen der vollständigen Blöcke mit den Patches. Mit allem, was bei uns los ist, ich habe nur hier und da ein paar Minuten an der Bettdecke zu arbeiten ...... Ich denke, ich werde sie zeitig genug fertig haben, um sie als Klassenprojekt für diesen Herbst zu übernehmen!

Die Arbeit an dem Mischen der Grüntöne beschäftigt mich momentan am meisten. Wir hatten ein paar Erfolge in unserer ersten Färberunde und sind jetzt am Feinjustieren. ... Wir haben eine weitere Mischreihe, die wir hoffentlich heute anpassen und mixen können! Diese Farben sind das Warten wert!

I finally have had some time to go back to the daffodil yellow quilt.... I'm glad that I didn't go ahead and cut out the last one that I posted, as this one feels better to me. Now have all of the math done and fabric is sitting there ready and waiting for me.... I can get started with the cutting out process and get this one underway!!!

 This "little piggie went to market"! I was at Lahsedt for the Spring Market on Sunday. This was the first time that I spent the  time at market by myself. My husband set up the tent for me and the quilt hanger and then the rest was up to me to do. We had lots of rain on Sunday afternoon, so the traffic was very light. But I learned quite a bit by doing this. At the end, my husband came back and and helped me pack up and take the tent down..... I had a wonderful visit with my friends while there and had their help as well! A very good learning experience for me!

I finally have finished doing all the embroidery work for the upcoming Market on Sunday. I wanted to share with you the daffodils that I embroidered for a dish towel in keeping with my Daffodil theme. My little daffodils are now in full bloom and I am enjoying them when ever I walk by them to go to the car. 

Here are the results of the dyeing the other day! I think that the yellow is pretty close to what I was aiming for! Underneath is the quilt that I have come up with. I will make it up using the dyed fabrics and see how it all turns out. I am really excited about this!! Have ordered the white fabric to use with it. I am already thinking about how I am going to quilt this quilt. Do I use an edge to edge or do I use custom quilting of some kind? Who knows what it will be......

Spring is coming slowly to the area where I live! I have been watching these daffodils start to grow and then finally bloom. I got the idea about dyeing fabrics to match the yellow in this picture. I spent some time yesterday looking at two colors quilts and finally narrowing my choices down to a few to see what really hits me once the fabric comes out of the dyer.

Hurray! Spring is almost here!! I have spent some time in my dye room and made these wonderful jelly rolls for quilters. If you don't know what a jelly roll, this is what they are. They are strips of fabric that is 2.5 inches wide  and are cut the length of the fabric. They are really fun to use in quilts! One can use them alone, or add other fabrics to the selection. I have used them both ways and either way is fun!
